You're at the rail, watching a weary sun dip below the waves. Your navigator's got the right course, and the island you aim to reach by nightfall looms ahead. After dropping anchor, you row to shore. The jungle's full of spooky animal noises - not the friendliest place, but great for hiding. There's an untouched wooden crate in the thicket. Open it with your key to find the treasures you've stashed. You'll take some on board to sell in the next city tomorrow. The next day, after selling your goods and having a good meal at a local tavern, you hear a ruckus outside. Dozens of slaves and Indigenous people are rising up against European oppressors, fighting for freedom. You've got a choice: sail away or join the fight. Storms are coming - where will your sails lead? The first major expansion of Maracaibo offers multiple modules and scenarios. Push the main nations out of the Caribbean in competitive or cooperative mode. There are asymmetrical player abilities, new optional stories, legacy tiles, and project cards. Solo players will face a new rival, Jacque! It's for 1 - 4 players, each with a 40 - minute playtime, and suitable for ages 12 and up.

To play this game, first, set up the game board according to the scenario you choose. Each player gets their tokens and cards based on the number of players. For the cooperative or competitive scenarios, work together or against others to push the predominant nations out of the Caribbean. If you're playing solo, be ready to face Jacque. During the game, use your asymmetrical player abilities to your advantage. When you come across legacy tiles and project cards, follow the instructions on them. As for optional stories, you can choose to play them to add more fun. After the game, make sure to keep all the components in a safe place to avoid losing them.
