Martian Chess

Martian Chess is an exciting board game for 2 to 4 players. It uses Icehouse pieces, with one stash needed per player, and a chessboard. This game was part of Icehouse: The Martian Chess Set and Pyramid Arcade. Just like regular chess, Martian Chess is about capturing pieces. It's turn - based and played on a chessboard. Players move and capture individual pieces, and each piece type has its own unique moving rules. But Martian Chess has some key differences. Piece ownership depends on location, not color. Winning is based on points, which means you can end the game and still win even if you have no pieces left. It can easily support 2 to 4 players, and with geomorphic chessboard sections, you can play with 3, 5, or 6 players. The game takes about 20 minutes to play and is suitable for ages 8 and up.

To play Martian Chess, first, each player gets one stash of Icehouse pieces. Set up the chessboard. The game is turn - based. On your turn, move your pieces according to their unique moving rules and try to capture your opponents' pieces to score points. Remember, piece ownership is determined by location on the board, not color. The goal is to get enough points to win. You can end the game and still be the winner even if you have no pieces left. If you want to play with 3, 5, or 6 players, use geomorphic chessboard sections. As for maintenance, keep the pieces in a dry place to avoid damage. Don't expose the chessboard to direct sunlight for too long to prevent fading. When not in use, store the game in a box to keep everything organized.
