Product Information
In Pandemic: Contagion, you step into the role of a virus with a mission: spread disease across the globe! This board game comes with a deck of contagion cards with differently - colored borders, city cards, event/WHO cards, and virus cubes. Each turn, you can take two out of three available actions, and you can repeat an action. First, draw contagion cards based on your current infection rate. Second, discard cards to advance a mutation, allowing you to draw more cards, place more cubes, or resist human counter - attacks. Third, discard matching - colored contagion cards to start or increase infection in a city, using two cards as a joker if needed. Then, place cubes according to your transmission rate. City cards have a colored border, a special action for the player who places the last cube, and three numbers. The large number shows cubes to close the city and points for the majority - cube holder, while the smaller numbers are for the second and third - most cube holders. Each round after the first, draw an event/WHO card. Events can happen at different times of your turn, benefiting or harming you directly or affecting turn actions. WHO cards are usually bad, but your resistance can reduce the penalty. Some event cards bring new city cards or trigger an intermediate scoring round. The game ends when the event/WHO deck runs out or only two city cards remain, with a final scoring to determine the victorious virus.
How to play Pandemic: Contagion: First, set up the game by laying out all the cards and cubes. Each player becomes a virus. On your turn, choose two actions from the three available. If you draw contagion cards, do it according to your current infection rate. When discarding cards to advance mutations, think about what benefits you most, like drawing more cards or resisting human moves. To infect cities, discard the right - colored cards. Remember, you can use two cards as a joker. Place virus cubes based on your transmission rate. Every round after the first, draw an event/WHO card and follow its instructions. Watch out for WHO cards as they usually bring penalties, but use your resistance to lessen them. When you see event cards with a city icon or skull, be ready for changes like new city cards or intermediate scoring. The game wraps up when the event/WHO deck is empty or only two city cards are left. Then, do a final scoring to see who wins. Note: Keep track of your infection and transmission rates, and manage your cards well. As for maintenance, keep the cards in a dry place and don't bend them. If the cubes get dirty, you can wash them gently with mild soap and water.
