Product Information

Board Game Geek Rating: 5.90. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 6.22. This 2 - player board game was published in 2015. It's the Kickstarter Edition of 'And Then, We Held Hands'. Note that unless stated, paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign aren't included. 'And Then, We Held Hands' is an exciting cooperative game focused on finding balance. To win, two players must complete objectives and reach the board's center. They take turns fulfilling a common emotional objective by discarding emotion cards to move from node to node. The catch? No verbal communication! They need to empathize and think about each other's situations when making moves. A player can use their own or their partner's cards, but if a move leaves the partner unable to move, the game ends. As they move, their balance shifts, and they can't refill their hands. The game has a unique card - splaying mechanism where players change their 'perspective' to see new options. Winning means meeting in the center in a balanced state within one turn of each other. It's tough but super rewarding! The game features beautiful art by French illustrator Marie Cardouat, known for works in Dixit, Steam Park, and Marrakech. We're happy to support campaigns to bring you games like 'And Then, We Held Hands' to buy online at TheGameSteward. A good portion of your spending on this game will go towards backing new Kickstarter games. If you have questions about buying or need game advice, contact The Game Steward.

How to play: You and another player sit down with the game board. Start by understanding the common emotional objective. Take turns discarding emotion cards to move from one node to another on the board. Remember, no talking! Try to think about your partner's situation when making a move. You can use your own cards or your partner's. Note: If your move makes it impossible for your partner to move, you lose the game. Also, as you move around the board, your balance will change, and you won't be able to refill your hand of cards. Winning: The goal is to meet in the center of the board. You both need to be in a balanced state and reach the center within one turn of each other. It's not easy, but when you do it, it's really great! Maintenance: Keep the cards and the board in a dry place. You can use a soft cloth to clean the board if it gets dirty. Store the game in its box to keep all the pieces together.
