It requires skill and dexterity to master this fast - paced game. One player, the Overseer, controls an army of monsters, while the others choose from six brave heroes on a quest to save Stormtryne from the catacomb threat. As heroes explore, they use abilities, buy items, and recruit allies to defeat monsters before facing the powerful Catacomb Lord. In the game, players flick wooden discs representing monsters and heroes. Contact with an opposing piece causes damage, and special abilities have other effects. When a room's monsters are cleared, heroes can move deeper. Items and equipment upgrades can be bought from the Merchant with gold from fallen monsters. The Catacomb Lord is the final challenge for heroes to win; the Overseer wins if all heroes are defeated. The third edition has all - new artwork, replaced keywords with iconography, changed terminology, new shot types, new card effects, different components, and wall pieces not in earlier editions.
