Product Information

Players: 1 to 5. Published in 2021. This is a Kickstarter Exclusive Edition of the Florence Board Game by Braincrack Games. It includes the core game, Kickstarter Exclusive Screen - Printed Score Trackers, a Kickstarter Exclusive 1st Player metal coin, a Kickstarter Exclusive Metal Rings Upgrade, and all unlocked stretch goals. Note that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless otherwise stated. At an opulent Renaissance carnival, seduce the Medici, send your noble family members to the streets of Florence, compete for control at different parties, meet the Medici upon their arrival, and use gifts, bragging, and scandals to win! Set in the city of Florence, the game tasks players with raising their family's status. On the night of a grand carnival, navigate the city to meet the ruling Medici figures: Cosimo, Giovanni, and Contessina. Florence is a Euro - style area control game. The regions you aim to control change each round as the Medici move around the city for various functions. Over 9 rounds, players dispatch family members to parties, give gifts, brag about achievements, spread gossip, and push through crowds to get face - time with the Medici. By getting your family to the front of queues and meeting the conditions of 'brag' cards, you earn valuable points to boost your family's status. Each Medici is impressed by a specific approach, and as the night progresses, they're harder to impress, offering more points for tougher objectives. Time is the main resource in Florence, not coins or limited turns. As the carnival gets busier and the streets fill with revelers, navigation becomes harder, so choose your scions' actions carefully. With engaging thematic gameplay and numerous strategies, Florence is a great finale to Braincrack Games’ Mediterranean eurogame series, which started with Ragusa and Venice. It also includes a solo mode by David Turczi. We're happy to support campaigns to bring you games like the Florence Core Bundle, available for online purchase at TheGameSteward. A significant portion of your spending on this bundle will go towards backing new games on Kickstarter. If you have questions about purchasing the Florence Core Bundle, buying online at The Game Steward, or need game advice, contact us at The Game Steward.

To play Florence, first, set up the game board, which represents the city of Florence. Each player gets a set of family members. You'll also need to place the Medici figures on the board. During the 9 - round game, take turns sending your family members to different parties around the city. At these parties, you can give gifts to the Medici, brag about your family's achievements using the 'brag' cards, spread some gossip, or even push through the crowds to get face - to - face with the Medici. Remember, each Medici has a different preference, so use the right approach to impress them. The more you meet the conditions of the 'brag' cards and get your family members to the front of the queues, the more points you'll earn to raise your family's status. As the game goes on, the Medici get harder to impress, but the points for achieving the objectives are higher. Be careful with how you use your time because as the carnival gets more crowded, it'll be more difficult to move your family members around. If you're playing the solo mode, follow the rules set by David Turczi. Keep the game components in a dry and clean place to maintain their quality. When not in use, store the game in its box to avoid any damage to the cards, tokens, or figures. And that's it! Have fun playing Florence and see if you can elevate your family to the highest status.
