Product Information

Board Game Geek Rating: 6.09. Avg Player Rating: 6.70. Suitable for 2 to 4 players and published in 2012. This is the Kickstarter Edition of Garden Dice. Note: paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign aren't included unless stated otherwise. Garden Dice is an exciting family strategy game that combines dice rolling, tile laying, and set collection. The 6x6 grid game board shows a garden where you place seed and vegetable tiles using dice - roll coordinates. Take turns to plant, water, and harvest five types of vegetables with different point values, from squash to eggplant. The game's chaining mechanism lets you water or harvest multiple tiles in one action and build on others' chains. Use bird and rabbit tiles to eat opponents' tiles, but there's a small penalty. The sundial and scarecrow tiles help you modify dice rolls or protect your own tiles. The included Gnome expansion adds more strategy by letting you adjust dice rolls for purchasing, watering, and harvesting. Bonuses increase tile values when harvested, and set - collecting earns extra points at the end. The player with the most points when the last tile is taken wins. At TheGameSteward, we're happy to support campaigns like this. A large part of your purchase will go towards backing new Kickstarter games. If you have any questions about buying or need game advice, contact The Game Steward.

Using Garden Dice is easy. First, set up the 6x6 grid game board to represent the garden. Each player takes turns rolling the dice. Use the dice - roll results as coordinates to place seed and vegetable tiles on the board. Try to plant, water, and harvest five different types of vegetables. The chaining mechanism is really cool - you can water or harvest multiple tiles in one action. But be careful when using bird and rabbit tiles to eat other players' tiles as there's a small penalty. The sundial and scarecrow tiles can be used to your advantage, like modifying dice rolls or protecting your own tiles. The Gnome expansion can be added to the base game to make it more strategic. As you harvest tiles, bonuses will increase their values, and collecting sets at the end of the game gets you extra points. The player with the most points when the last tile is taken wins. Remember, this is the Kickstarter Edition, and paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign aren't included unless otherwise stated. Keep the game board clean and store the tiles and dice in a safe place to maintain the game for long - term use.
