Note: paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign aren't included unless stated. Lincoln is an exciting, fast - paced, two - player card - driven strategy wargame set in the American Civil War. You can re - fight the whole war strategically in under two hours. The game uses point - to - point movement, area control, and hidden army strengths. There are no dice. Each side (Union and Confederate) has its own card deck showing their strengths and weaknesses. The Union player must accumulate victory points by capturing Confederate areas and blockading. They need to win by the third cycle of their card deck. The Confederate player must stop the Union's victory. As the game goes on, the Union gets stronger with better cards, while the Confederates get weaker. It's a 'deck destruction' game. Cards can be used in multiple ways and recycled. The Union player tries to win by capturing Confederate - controlled areas and using a naval blockade to squeeze the Confederate player. They need to reach the required victory points by the third cycle of their card deck. The Confederate player just has to hold on and stop the Union from winning. As the decks cycle, the Union gets better cards and becomes stronger, while the Confederates get weaker. When using cards, they have multiple uses. You can recycle them if used in one way, but you'll have to decide which cards to sacrifice permanently from your deck cycle to build units. Note: This is the Kickstarter Edition.
