Oath's systems are all - new, responsive, and adaptable. One decision can have long - lasting impacts. The core rules are easy: players adventure in the Chancellor’s realm and nearby lands. They gather support, recruit warbands, and uncover secrets. The game world is a shared space for players to interact and control.
Most start as Exiles, aiming to challenge the Chancellor or fulfill a new Vision. The Chancellor wins by holding onto power and might offer citizenship to Exiles. While players sometimes cooperate, only one can win.
In Oath, 1 - 6 players shape history. Their choices change future games, affecting resources, actions, and victory conditions. There are no flashy tricks or app - assisted mechanisms. You can reset the game anytime and don't need the same group. Play solo during the week and with friends on Saturdays.
Each game in Oath impacts the next. There's no pre - written story or fixed end. It's about creating a legacy. At the end of each game, in the Chronicle Phase, adjust the board, victory condition, and cards based on the win. Then, you can play another game or pack it up easily (6 minutes to pack, 3 minutes to set up).
Oath can be played in multiple sessions for an epic experience or just one round. You can pick up where you left off later, and your playgroup can change. We're happy to offer this game at TheGameSteward. A portion of your purchase will back new Kickstarter games. Contact us if you have questions.

How to play: First, set up the game according to the instructions. It only takes about 3 minutes. Players start as either Exiles or the Chancellor. Exiles should go out adventuring in the realm, gather support, recruit warbands, and look for secrets. Try to either challenge the Chancellor's power or fulfill a new Vision to win. The Chancellor should hold onto power and can offer citizenship to Exiles, but be careful as new Citizens can be a threat.
During the game, remember that every decision you make will affect future games. The world in the game will change based on what happens in each round.
After each game, enter the Chronicle Phase. Re - center the board around the victor's territory, adjust the victory condition, and add new cards to the deck depending on how the game was won. Then, you can choose to play another game right away or pack up the game. It takes about 6 minutes to pack up neatly.
Note: This is the Kickstarter Edition. It includes the core game, session journal, coins, deluxe component upgrades, and all relevant stretch goals. But paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. Also, you don't need the same group of players for each game, and you can use the solo mode to play on your own.
Maintenance: Keep the game components in a dry and clean place. Make sure to put the cards back in the deck neatly after each game to avoid damage.
