Product Information

Board Game Geek Rating: 7.09. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 7.22. This 2 - 4 player board game was published in 2024. It's a Kickstarter - exclusive Takenoko: Oyako Collector’s Edition by Surfin Meeple. The game includes the core game and all unlocked stretch goals. Note that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. Long ago, at the Japanese Imperial court, the Chinese Emperor gave a giant panda to the Japanese Emperor as a peace symbol. Players, acting as court members, must care for the panda by maintaining its bamboo garden. In Takenoko, you'll cultivate land plots, irrigate them, and grow three types of bamboo (Green, Yellow, and Pink) with the help of the Imperial gardener. You'll need to satisfy the panda's big appetite for bamboo. The player who manages land best, grows the most bamboo while feeding the panda, wins. We're excited to back campaigns and offer the Takenoko: Oyako Collector’s Edition for online purchase at TheGameSteward. A good portion of your spending on this game will go towards backing new Kickstarter games. If you have questions about buying this game online or need game advice, contact The Game Steward.

To play Takenoko: Oyako Collector’s Edition, first, set up the game board and place the necessary pieces according to the instructions. Each player takes on the role of a court member at the Japanese Imperial court. The goal is to maintain the panda's bamboo garden. Start by cultivating land plots and using irrigation to grow bamboo. There are three types of bamboo - green, yellow, and pink. Try to grow as much bamboo as you can while also satisfying the panda's hunger. Remember, the player who manages their land best and feeds the panda well wins. As for storage, keep the game in a dry and cool place to avoid damage to the pieces. Also, make sure to put all the pieces back in the box after each use to prevent loss. If you have any paid add - ons, check the Kickstarter details for how to integrate them into the game. If you face any issues during the game, don't hesitate to contact The Game Steward for help.
