Tinners Trail Expanded Edition is a thematic Euro board game set in 19th - century Cornwall. This is a reprint of the critically - acclaimed 2008 game by Martin Wallace, redeveloped and upgraded by Alley Cat Games. The game is suitable for 1 to 5 players, expanding from the original 3 - 4 player range. It comes with two brand - new expansions. The Arsenic Expansion adds a new resource, arsenic. Mining arsenic costs you permanent work points but rewards you with a big cash payout. The Emigration Expansion allows you to send your workers overseas for ongoing benefits like extra income or free improvements. These expansions can be played alone or combined and are compatible with the Lord Wallace solo mode. The solo mode plays like a 2 - player game, with Lord Wallace's actions determined by a deck of solo cards. Each time it's Lord Wallace's turn, you flip a card to decide his action based on the round number and his work marker position. This new edition also features reduced randomness as the board is set up with tiles instead of dice rolls. The auctions have been improved with dual - use cards. The artwork and graphic design are better, thanks to Ossi Heikkla and Javier 'Inkgolem' González. Component quality is enhanced with custom meeples and color - blind friendly colors. How to play Tinners Trail Expanded Edition: 1. Set up the game board using the tiles instead of rolling dice. Place all components like meeples, cards, and markers as described in the rulebook. 2.
