Product Information

Board Game Geek Rating: 7.41. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 7.79. Suitable for 2 to 4 players and published in 2017. This is the Retail Edition of the Codenames Duet Board Game. Codenames Duet retains the core of Codenames - using one - word clues to get your teammate to spot your agents on the table. But here, you're a team aiming to find all your agents. To start, arrange 25 word cards in a 5×5 grid. Put a key card in the holder so each player sees one side. Each side has a 5×5 grid with nine green squares (your agents) and three black squares (assassins). There are some shared green and black squares between the two sides. You must uncover all fifteen agents without revealing an assassin before time's up to win. Either player can give the first one - word clue and a number. The receiver points to a card. Correct guesses let you keep going; a bystander ends the turn, and an assassin means you both lose. Unlike regular Codenames, you can keep guessing as long as you find agents. After the first clue, players take turns. At TheGameSteward, we support game campaigns. A big part of your spend on Codenames: Duet will back new Kickstarter games. If you have questions, contact us at The Game Steward.

How to play: First, lay out 25 word cards in a 5×5 grid. Place the key card in the holder so each player can see one side. Each side of the key card shows a 5×5 grid with nine green squares (your agents) and three black squares (assassins). One player starts by giving a one - word clue and a number to the other player. The receiver then tries to identify an agent by placing a finger on a card. If it's correct, they can keep guessing. If they pick a bystander, their turn ends. If they pick an assassin, the game is lost. After the first clue, players take turns giving clues. The goal is to find all fifteen agents before time runs out. Note: Make sure to pay attention to the shared green and black squares on the key card. It can help you make better guesses. Maintenance: Keep the cards in a dry and clean place to prevent damage. Avoid bending or folding the cards. If the cards get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
