Product Information

Board Game Geek Rating: 5.67. Average Player Rating: 7.01. For 2 - 4 players, published in 2018. This is the Retail Edition of Train Heist, a cooperative board game where 2 - 4 players become cowboys. Together, they stop the corrupt Sheriff and rich folks from stealing townspeople's earnings. The game includes a quad - fold board, 35 poker cards, 21 event cards, 12 wanted cards, 21 loot tiles, 3 Cherokee tokens, 3 bullet tokens, 2 railroad switch tokens, large and small Train Heist arrows with magnets, a hangman marker, a Train Heist goal marker, a drawstring loot sack, 5 train car minis, 4 cowboy minis, 2 horse minis, a sheriff mini, 40 loot counters, and a rulebook. Unlike traditional board games, Train Heist uses a free - range board. Players can go anywhere to complete their tasks. A unique game mechanic makes the train move, load new cargo and passengers, and trigger random events. With a special three - suit Poker Deck, players loot the train, race horses across Crackpot Canyon, earn reputations and special abilities. The corrupt Sheriff is robbing the territory's good folks. In Train Heist, up to four players board the train, loot it, and escape before being caught. Bring enough loot to each town before the train arrives to keep the Sheriff away. If perilous events pile up or a hangman noose is set, it's game over. Reach the right amount of loot before the Event Deck runs out and the train leaves town to win! We support campaigns to bring you games like Train Heist. A large part of your purchase will back new games on Kickstarter. Contact The Game Steward if you have questions about buying Train Heist Retail Edition online or need game advice.

How to play Train Heist: First, set up the game using the quad - fold board, lay out all the cards, tokens, minis, and other components as described in the rulebook. Decide who will be the cowboys and get ready to start the adventure. When playing, use the poker cards to loot the train and make your moves. The train moves around the board and new cargo and passengers are loaded. Triggered random events add excitement to the game. Your goal is to work together with other players to rob the train and bring enough loot back to each town before the train arrives. This keeps the corrupt Sheriff at bay. Be careful! If too many perilous events happen or a hangman noose is tied, the game is over for everyone. You need to reach the right amount of loot before the Event Deck runs out and the train skips town to win. Maintenance advice: Keep the cards in a dry place to prevent them from getting damaged. You can use card sleeves to protect the poker, event, and wanted cards. Store the minis in a box to avoid them getting broken. If the magnets on the Train Heist arrows lose their strength, you can replace them. If you have any other questions while playing, don't hesitate to refer to the rulebook or contact The Game Steward for help.
