Product Information
Forgotten Souls is an exciting new cooperative adventure for Descent: Journeys in the Dark Second Edition. It lets up to four heroes team up in a fully cooperative game. Usually in Descent, one player is the overlord, controlling monsters and evil forces. But in Forgotten Souls, it's all about cooperation. This expansion emulates a mini - campaign, allowing you and your friends to explore a growing dungeon, pass tests, and fight fierce monsters. Encounters and monsters are card - controlled, not by an overlord. You'll collect loot and gain experience as you face various encounters, leading to a thrilling battle in the dragon's lair. In this cooperative variant, the overlord's objective is replaced by the overlord track. There are doom and fate tokens at opposite ends. If they meet, you lose. Doom advances when heroes fail, while fate can be influenced by heroes' progress. For example, a knocked - out hero moves fate forward, but completing main encounters can reset it. Note: The rules for this expansion aren't in the box but can be downloaded for free from the Fantasy Flight Descent: Journeys in the Dark Second Edition support page.
To play Forgotten Souls, gather up to four friends and start your cooperative adventure. First, set up the overlord track with the doom and fate tokens at opposite ends. Then, use the card decks to control encounters and monsters. As you play, your heroes will face various tests, battles, and gain experience and loot. When a hero gets knocked out, move the fate token forward one step. But if you complete a main encounter successfully, you can reset the fate token to its starting point. Be careful though, as the doom token moves forward when heroes fail encounters. If the doom and fate tokens meet on the overlord track, the game is over and you lose. Remember, the rules for this expansion are not in the box. You can download them for free from the Fantasy Flight Descent: Journeys in the Dark Second Edition support page. Keep your cards in a safe place to prevent damage, and store them in a cool, dry area when not in use.
