Product Information

Findorff, one of the 23 districts in Bremen, the hometown of Friedemann Friese, gets its name from Jürgen Christian Findorff (1720 - 1792). This historical figure was in charge of draining and surveying the northern Bremen bog, extracting peat, and populating the area. In the Findorff game, you'll build the district from 1803 to 1916. Historically, six major railway stations once connected Findorff to Hannover, Hamburg, Oldenburg, and Bremerhaven. Later, they were replaced by a single main station. In the game, you can build three new rail stations on one of the two main roadbeds. Boats on the peat canal and this small railway transported peat, a vital 19th - century commodity for heating and industry, from the bog to Findorff. By the late 19th century, coal replaced peat. The game offers an economic engine - building experience with a peat resource market, similar to Power Grid, and unique resource management when constructing rail tracks and houses. Your goal is to build the right combination of 25 historical structures from 1803 - 1916. You can choose between large - profit buildings like the Chair Pipes Factory or the Slaughterhouse, or smaller ones like Schools, the Beer Hall, or the Peat Skipper Shelter. Even running a Cemetery can be profitable due to the high mortality rate of the period. Adapt your strategy to your structures to honor Mr. Findorff and win when the roadbed to Hamburg is completed. It also offers a challenging solo mode.

To play Findorff, start by setting up the game board representing the district of Findorff from 1803 - 1916. Decide whether you're playing solo or with others. As the game progresses, focus on building the right combination of the 25 historical structures. Consider the profitability of each building. Larger ones can bring in a lot of thalers quickly, while smaller ones can help you win in small steps. Keep an eye on the peat resource market and manage your resources well when building rail tracks and houses. Remember, the goal is to adapt your strategy to the structures you have. Once the roadbed to Hamburg is finished, you win the game. For solo players, embrace the challenge of competing against the set - up conditions. There aren't any strict maintenance requirements for the game, but keep the pieces in a safe place to avoid losing them. Also, ensure the game board is clean and undamaged for the best playing experience.
