Uchronic conquests await! In First Empires, you'll have the chance to develop your own civilization and rewrite the course of history. As Chamberlain said, 'The time of small nations is past, the time of empires begins.' Imagine a world where history took a different turn, where forgotten civilizations thrived. In this game, every roll of the dice can change the fate of empires. Each player controls an ancient nation using a player board, meeples, and cards. The game's length depends on the number of players. On your turn, roll dice based on your empire's development. The six - sided dice correspond to five abilities on your board. Unlock movement to expand or invade. Annex territories by outnumbering opponents or getting a 'sword' on the dice. Use the dice to develop your board and gain more dice, re - rolls, and achievement cards. At the end, score points from achievement cards, personal board points, and the cities you control. Suitable for 2 - 5 players, takes 45 - 60 minutes, and is for ages 14 and up. Features area movement, dice rolling, and tech trees. The theme is civilization and territory building.
To play First Empires, first, each player picks an ancient nation to control using the provided player board, meeples, and cards. The number of rounds depends on how many are playing. On your turn, look at how you've developed your empire board and roll the dice. The different sides of the dice match the abilities on your board. If you want to expand to new lands or attack other players, you need to unlock the movement ability. To take over a territory, you either have to have more meeples than the current owner or roll a'sword' on the dice. When you do this, the people in that territory will flee. You can also use the dice to make improvements to your player board, but you need to control the related territory. You can get more dice and extra re - rolls as you play, and you'll unlock achievement cards. At the end of the game, add up your points from the achievement cards you've played, the points on your personal board, and the number of cities you control. Remember, this game is for 2 - 5 players and takes about 45 - 60 minutes. It's meant for people 14 and older. Keep your game pieces in a safe place when not in use to avoid losing them. Have fun creating your own empire!
