Step into the enchanting Land of 1001 Nights as your caravan reaches the legendary Sultanate of Naqala. With the old sultan's passing, control of this fabled place is up for grabs! The oracles have predicted that strangers will skillfully manipulate the Five Tribes - Assassins, Elders, Builders, Merchants, and Viziers - to gain influence over this city - state. Will you be the one to fulfill the prophecy? Summon the old Djinns and strategically move the Tribes at the right time, and the Sultanate could be yours! Designed by Bruno Cathala, this game is part of the German - style board game tradition with wooden meeples. In a unique take on the 'worker placement' genre, the meeples start already in position. Your clever maneuvers of these tribes across the villages, markets, oases, and sacred places of Naqala will determine your success or failure.
To play Five Tribes, first set up the game board with all the village, market, oasis, and sacred place tiles to form the Sultanate of Naqala. Place the wooden meeples representing the Five Tribes on the board as indicated in the setup instructions. Each turn, you'll have the chance to move and displace the tribes. Try to use the powers of the old Djinns to your advantage by invoking them at the right time. When displacing the tribes, think carefully about how, when, and where to do it, as this will directly affect your chances of victory. Remember, the goal is to gain influence over the city - state. As for maintenance, keep the wooden meeples and tiles in a dry and clean place. Avoid dropping or rough handling the meeples to prevent damage. If the tiles get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
