Combat (2nd Printing)

Combat! is an exciting solitaire game that puts you in charge of 20th century man-to-man combat. As the player, you'll command friendly forces to complete scenarios against enemy forces controlled by the game system. Each turn starts with you playing a card from your hand to the Initiative track. This card sets the initiative values for your friendly teams and may have extra effects. Then, assign orders to your characters to decide their actions for the turn. After that, draw an Enemy AI Card for each enemy team with alerted characters on the board to determine their initiative and orders. The game turn unfolds in 4 Impulses. Characters, both friendly and enemy, act from the lowest to the highest initiative value. All characters act on Impulse 1, then move to Impulse 2, 3, and finally 4. At the turn's end, remove all orders and return played cards to their decks. With multiple maps and nearly 800 counters, Combat! will keep you entertained for years.

How to play: First, take control of the friendly forces and aim to finish the scenario against the enemy. At the start of each turn, pick a card from your hand and place it on the Initiative track. This decides the initiative values for your teams. Next, assign orders to your characters so you know what they can do this turn. Then, draw an Enemy AI Card for enemy teams with alerted characters. The game turn happens in 4 steps. Characters act from the lowest to the highest initiative. All go through Impulse 1 first, then 2, 3, and 4. At the end of the turn, take away all the orders and put the played cards back in their decks. Note: Make sure to keep track of the cards and counters properly. Also, pay attention to the initiative values and orders for a smooth - running game. Maintenance: Keep the cards and counters in a dry and cool place to prevent damage.
