This is a Kickstarter - exclusive solo board game expansion by Grey Fox Games. It includes 30 cards for solo play and requires the base game After The Empire (sold separately). Note that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless stated otherwise.

After Rome's fall, Europe entered the so - called dark ages. Feudalism emerged from the chaos, bringing stability. In the High Middle Ages, the region was prosperous despite battles. As a medieval liege in your walled city, you rule the surrounding lands and holdings. Your fiefdom is yours, and all owe you fealty.

Each neighboring lord or lady rules a fiefdom and competes for resources in the bountiful countryside. Tensions were high until invaders came from the east. Their army camps on your realm's edge, threatening the whole land. Refugees bring tales of destruction. Old rivalries must be put aside to face the onslaught.

After The Empire is a medieval worker - placement and resource - management game. In each season (a turn), players take turns using worker tokens to gather resources, build buildings, and recruit refugees. After all workers are committed, harvest food and prepare for combat.

During combat, invader cards are revealed with random troops and attack directions. Only wealthy castles attract large forces and siege weapons. You must repair your city and arm troops fast. The winner is the one who preserves their fiefdom best and saves the most gold.

How to use: First, make sure you have the base game After The Empire. Then, take out the 30 cards from the solo expansion bundle. Set up the game according to the base - game rules. In each turn (season), players alternate using worker tokens to perform actions like gathering resources, building buildings, and recruiting refugees. After all workers are used, harvest food and get ready for combat. Reveal invader cards to know the troops and attack directions. Try to repair your city and arm your troops quickly.

Maintenance advice: Keep the cards in a dry and clean place. You can use card sleeves to protect them from wear and tear. When not in use, store the game in its box to keep all parts together.
