Product Information

Board Game Geek Rating: 5.70. Average Player Rating on Board Game Geek: 8.35. This board game is for 2 to 4 players and was published in 2018. It's the Azathoth Neutral Board Game Expansion by Petersen Games from the Onslaught 3 Kickstarter campaign. Note: paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign aren't included unless stated otherwise. The Azathoth expansion is a unique 'neutral' addition. When you awaken Azathoth or first summon one of the four associated Monster types, you get the unit’s Loyal Card. This card shows the Monster's stats and special ability. After that, only you can summon that Monster type until they're all gone from the map. For example, if you're first to summon an Elder Thing, you can call all three. Azathoth is special. When summoning, choose how much Power to spend and mark it on your Power track. The more you spend, the deadlier he is. Sometimes players might summon him cheaply to keep him from others. At TheGameSteward, we're happy to back campaigns like this. A good part of your spend on this expansion will go towards backing new Kickstarter games. If you have questions about buying or need game advice, contact The Game Steward.

How to use: First, set up the game as per the main Cthulhu Wars rules. To use the Azathoth expansion, you can try to awaken Azathoth or be the first to summon one of the four Monster types. When you do, grab the Loyal Card for that unit. From then on, only you can call that Monster type until they're all removed from the map. When summoning Azathoth, decide how much Power you want to use and put a marker on your Power track. More Power means a deadlier Azathoth. Note: This expansion is from a Kickstarter campaign, and paid add - ons aren't included unless stated. Also, remember that once all of a certain Monster type is wiped off the map, others can start summoning them again. Maintenance: Keep the cards in a card protector to prevent wear and tear. Store the game in a cool, dry place to keep all components in good condition.
