Cthulhu Wars: The Ancients Faction Expansion [CW-F6] (Kickstarter Special)

Board Game Geek Rating: 7.18; Avg Player Rating: 8.06. For 2 - 4 players, published in 2018. This expansion from the Onslaught 3 Kickstarter campaign adds a new human faction to Cthulhu Wars. It features 6 unique Acolytes, 3 Un - Men (plasma criminals), 3 Reanimated (atom - powered zombies), 3 Yothans (gigantic underground reptiles), 4 cathedrals, 19 figures in total, and a 3mm die - cut Faction Card. Note: paid add - ons from the Kickstarter are not included unless stated. The Ancients Faction is human - oriented and unique as it has no Great Old One. It requires diplomacy and negotiation. Like the Yellow Sign, you travel the world to build cathedrals, with a special unmarked area requirement. Each creature has a spellbook that makes it inferior but cheaper and essential for victory. The special Dematerialization ability aids in movement during the Doom phase. We're excited to offer this game at TheGameSteward and use a portion of your spend to back new Kickstarter games.

To play with this expansion, first, set up the game according to the Cthulhu Wars rules. Add the new figures and the die - cut Faction Card of The Ancients Faction to the game. When it's your turn as The Ancients Faction, remember your goal is to build cathedrals in specific areas. You can move your units using the Dematerialization ability during the Doom phase. Select an area where you have units and move them to another area on the map. Keep in mind that you need to collect all six spellbooks to win the game, even though they make your creatures a bit weaker but cheaper. Regarding the paid add - ons from the Kickstarter, make sure to check if they are included in your purchase. If not, you may need to acquire them separately. There's no special maintenance needed for the figures and cards, just keep them in a dry and clean place to prevent damage.
