Product Information

Board Game Geek Rating: 5.65. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 7.80. For 1 to 5 players. Published in 2020. This is a Kickstarter - exclusive endangered board game by Grand Gamers Guild. It includes the core game, exclusive custom dice with role symbols instead of the 6, and all applicable stretch goals. Note: paid add - ons from the Kickstarter campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. The progress of humanity threatens many vulnerable species. As conservationists, work together to save just one species from extinction. It's a challenging balance to stay ahead of environmental collapse and other dangers while making plans for the species' long - term survival. Endangered is a cooperative game where all players work together. You have different roles with unique advantages, and you'll either win or lose together. It's not easy to win, but losing is a lesson for better teamwork next time. It's also a modular game system. The base game has Tiger and Sea Otter modules, each with its own environment, cards, hazards, and special rules. More modules for other threatened species are planned. The Kickstarter edition comes with 15 extra - gorgeous custom - screened dice and a shiny Spot UV finish on parts of the box top. We've partnered with the Center for Biological Diversity. Every game played advances their mission and raises awareness for endangered wildlife. After the Kickstarter, they'll consult on the game's content and help us reach animal lovers. We support them with a special pledge level, donating a copy of the game for each backer at that level. Post - campaign, we'll donate 'Tip Jar' funds and a portion of non - Kickstarter sales proceeds to them. Endangered is played in turns with 5 phases per turn. Roll dice, place them on Action spots to trigger abilities like moving animals, managing environmental destruction, influencing ambassadors, and playing cards. Encourage mating pairs to increase the population. Deal with environmental degradation like deforestation for Tigers and oil spills for Sea Otters. Reveal and carry out Impacts from the deck. Draw a new card and pass play. Win if you get 4 or more yes votes from ambassadors in one of two voting years. Lose if you fail to get votes, the animal population vanishes, or the environment is too devastated. Play as different roles like Zoologist, Philanthropist, TV Wildlife Host, Lobbyist, or Environmental Lawyer. Time is short. Can you save the animals and influence the ambassadors? We're happy to back campaigns to bring you this game. A large percentage of your spending on this game will support new Kickstarter games.

How to play Endangered: First, gather 1 to 5 players. Each turn, you'll go through 5 phases. Start by rolling your dice and placing them on Action spots to do things like moving animals, dealing with environmental damage, and more. Try to get mating pairs of your chosen species to increase the population. Keep an eye on the environment - for Tigers, it's deforestation, and for Sea Otters, it's oil spills. Reveal and handle Impacts from the deck, some good, some bad. Draw a new card at the end of your turn and pass play. You win if you get 4 or more yes votes from ambassadors in one of the two voting years. Lose if the animal population disappears or the environment is too damaged. Remember, this is a cooperative game, so work together! Tips: Communicate well with your team members. Plan your actions in advance based on the situation. Try different strategies each time you play. Maintenance: Keep the game components in a dry place. Don't expose the dice and cards to direct sunlight for a long time to prevent fading. If the box gets dirty, you can gently wipe it with a soft cloth. If you have any questions about the game, like how to play a specific module or handle an Impact, feel free to contact The Game Steward.
