Margraves of Valeria is a thrilling hand - building worker - placement game set in the fantasy world of Valeria. It's the fifth stand - alone game in the series, offering a familiar feel with icons, characters, and easy turns, while building on common mechanics like off - turn bonuses, multi - use cards, and resource management. As a Margrave, you're a military commander defending Valeria and building magical Ward Towers. Command Knights to slay monsters and activate locations to gain influence over the 4 Guilds: Worker, Soldier, Shadow, and Holy. Earn privilege tiles as you gain influence, which offer bonuses. At game's end, victory points are based on Guild influence and collected icons. The Margrave with the most points becomes a Duke or Duchess and gets their own province! Turns are simple - play 1 Citizen card from your hand. Each card can be used for action icons, power text, or face - down for board actions. How to use: First, set up the game according to the instructions. Each player takes on the role of a Margrave. During your turn, pick 1 Citizen card from your hand and decide how to use it - for action icons, power text, or a board action. Command Knights to different locations to gain influence over the Guilds. As you gain influence, you'll get privilege tiles. At the end of the game, count your victory points based on Guild influence and collected icons. The one with the most points wins. Note: Remember that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless otherwise stated. The Knights on the board are shared, so be careful not to help your opponents too much. Maintenance: Keep the cards and coins in a dry and cool place. If the cards get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft cloth. Avoid bending or creasing the cards to keep them in good condition.
