Morels is a strategic card game for two. It uses a Day Deck (84 cards) with ten mushroom types, baskets, cider, butter, pans, and moons, and a smaller Night Deck (8 cards) for moonlight foraging. Each mushroom card has selling and cooking values. Selling two or more similar mushrooms gets you foraging sticks to expand options in the forest tableau. Cooking three or more like mushrooms earns points. With poisonous mushrooms and a hand - size limit, card selection is tricky. After each turn, a forest card goes to a short - term decay pile, and the Day Deck refills the forest. How to use: First, set up the game by laying out the Day Deck and Night Deck as described. Each player starts the game. During your turn, look at the forest tableau and decide whether to sell or cook mushrooms. Selling similar mushrooms gets you foraging sticks, which give you more choices in the forest. Cooking three or more like mushrooms helps you earn points to win. After your turn, move one card from the forest to the decay pile, and the Day Deck will refill the forest. Remember, you can only use the cards in the decay pile for a short time. Note: This is a Kickstarter Exclusive Edition, and paid add - ons from the campaign are not included unless stated.
