It's a Gamefound exclusive bundle that includes the core game and all unlocked stretch goals. Nightmare Cathedral features the amazing, haunting artwork of the late Polish surrealist Zdzisław Beksiński. In this game, victory comes from controlling the map, managing resources, following objectives, and choosing the right time for conflicts. As the game goes on, you'll perform actions to produce units, build fortifications, move around the map, and spend followers on the ritual track. A spooky Cathedral grows in the center of the board. Once completed, you can face and control the nightmares released. Each player has Action cards with effects that can be activated on their turn or as a reaction. The game has two stages. After the Cathedral is built, powerful Nightmares enter the board and devour units, but you can control them. The game ends when the Time marker reaches a certain space, a player reaches the end of the Ritual track, or a certain number of units are devoured. To play Nightmare Cathedral, start by setting up the board with all the components from the bundle. Each player gets a set of Action cards. Decide who goes first. The active player moves their Dreamer to a non - adjacent Day space and performs the action on their Action card for that space. Other players can react to this action. As the game progresses, work on building the Cathedral piece by piece. Keep an eye on managing your resources, producing units, and moving around the map. Once the Cathedral is finished, be ready for the Nightmares to enter the game. You can try to control them to gain an advantage. The game ends when one of the end - conditions is met, like the Time marker reaching a specific space, a player finishing the Ritual track, or a set number of units being devoured. When not in use, store the game in a cool, dry place to keep the cards and pieces in good condition. If any pieces get dirty, gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
