There are five major cities: Venice, Milan, Florence, Rome, and Naples. Players gain interests in these cities as the game goes on. Each city has six tiles, each with a famous character like Lucrezia Borgia or Lorenzo Medici. These tiles have special properties and are worth victory points based on the city's end - game status. War changes a city's status. When cities fight, players bid with influence points to be the Condottiere. War outcome depends on luck and army size. Players get paid for fighting, allowing them to turn influence into gold to buy more City tiles. Treachery is part of the game. Players can buy Treachery tiles or be devious in legal ways. At some point, a player becomes the Pope and can form a Holy League. Negotiation is an option but not required. Buy the Princes of the Renaissance Kickstarter Game online at TheGameSteward. To start playing Princes of the Renaissance, first set up the game using the core game components, the extra city tiles, 6 player boards, and other included items. Each player takes on the role of a minor Condottiere prince. As the game progresses, try to gain interests in the five major cities. When a war breaks out between cities, bid with your influence points to be the Condottiere. Remember, the outcome of the war is a mix of luck and the size of your army, and you'll get paid regardless of the result. Use the gold you earn to buy more city tiles. You can also use Treachery tiles to play dirty, but there are also other legal ways to be devious. When someone becomes the Pope, negotiation can come into play, but it's up to you whether to use it. Be aware that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless stated. To maintain your game, keep the tiles and counters in a dry place to prevent damage.
