Villages of Valeria: Landmarks and Architects Big Box Edition (Kickstarter Special)

Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 8.17. This is a Kickstarter edition for the Villages of Valeria board game by Daily Magic Games. It's designed for 2 to 5 players and was published in 2019. It includes the Landmarks Expansion, Architects Expansion, a big box for storing the core game, and all unlocked stretch goals. Note that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. The retail version of the Landmarks expansion will have wood block tokens instead of the Deluxe custom tokens from pledged rewards. The VOV Big Box offers 206mm of card storage, 1.75 times the capacity of the Deluxe Box, and has 8 token wells for organized storage. The Landmarks expansion introduces a new 'Build A Landmark' mechanic. If you can't or don't want to follow the lead action, you can build a landmark by discarding a specific card and taking a corresponding landmark token. Landmark tokens aren't buildings, but at game's end, having the most of each type or a set of five different landmarks earns you victory points. It also comes with new Adventurer, Building, and Architect cards. The base game supports solo play, and the Landmarks expansion has 49 cards for solo play (assuming all stretch goals are unlocked), though the 'Landmarks' mechanic itself requires at least two players. How to use: Set up the core game first. Then add the components from the Landmarks and Architects expansions. When it's your turn, if you can't or don't want to follow the lead action, you can build a landmark. Just discard a specific card from your hand and take a landmark token based on the resource icon at the bottom of the Building card. Place the token on your castle card. At the end of the game, count your landmark tokens to earn victory points. New Adventurer, Building, and Architect cards can be used as described in the rules. Note: The retail version of the Landmarks expansion has wood block tokens instead of the Deluxe custom tokens from pledged rewards.
