To play Root: Underworld, first, make sure you have the core game as this is an expansion. Set up the board with the included lake and mountain maps. Place the wooden and cardboard pieces as per the rules. Choose a faction, either The Great Underground Duchy or The Corvid Conspiracy, and get your faction board. Use the cards, dice, and tokens during the game. When playing on the mountain map, you can dig tunnels, and on the lake map, fight to control the ferry. Keep the game components clean and dry.
