Board Game Geek Rating: 6.86. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 9.12. This board game is for 1 to 5 players and was published in 2018. It's the Retail Edition of the Scythe: The Rise of Fenris Board Game Expansion. After the Great War, empires have come and gone, and Europa is on the verge of a new era. The economy is booming, morale is high, and defenses are solid. There are reports of strange soldiers with glowing eyes in the countryside, but they seem far - off and harmless. Scythe: The Rise of Fenris, the finale of the Scythe expansion trilogy, offers two options for different player counts. If you have Scythe, it's for 1 - 5 players; with Invaders from Afar, it's for 1 - 7 players. Campaign Mode (8 games): The Scythe story continues and ends with an eight - episode campaign. It has surprises, unlocks, and persistent elements, and it can be fully reset and replayed. Modular Mode (11 modules): Instead of or after the campaign, use the new modules in various combinations to suit your preferences. These modules work with all Scythe expansions and include a fully cooperative module. The components in this expansion are a detailed episodic guidebook, 13 plastic miniatures, 62 wooden tokens, 2 custom dice, 25 tiles, and over 100 cardboard tokens. Most of these components are in 5 secret tuckboxes and on 6 punchboards. We're happy to support campaigns to bring you games like Scythe: The Rise of Fenris Retail Edition, which you can buy online at TheGameSteward. How to play: First, decide whether you want to play the campaign mode with 8 games or the modular mode with 11 modules. In the campaign mode, follow the episodic guidebook to continue the Scythe story. In the modular mode, mix and match the modules according to your preference. The game can accommodate 1 to 5 players if you have Scythe, and 1 to 7 players if you also have Invaders from Afar. When setting up, take out the components like plastic miniatures, wooden tokens, custom dice, tiles, and cardboard tokens from the secret tuckboxes and punchboards. Note: Be careful when removing the components from the punchboards to avoid damage. Keep the small tokens away from children as they can be a choking hazard. Maintenance: Store the game in a dry and cool place to prevent the cardboard and wooden components from warping. After each game, put all the components back in their proper places to keep them organized and ready for the next play.
