Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 7.03. Playable by 1 to 5 players and published in 2019. This is the Retail Edition of Lockup by Thunderworks Games, including the Core Game. During the Dragul Invasion of Nalos, King Taron's soldiers imprisoned captured minions in Kulbak Prison. Each year, the toughest war - prisoner gang is released into the royal Colosseum. You'll command a squadron of captured Dragul. Gather goons, craft contraband to boost your reputation, and keep the guards' suspicion low to become the most powerful crew in Kulbak. In six days, you might get a chance for freedom. Lockup is a competitive worker - placement game set in the Roll Player universe. In each round, manage your minions like gnolls, kobolds, bugbears, goblins, or insectoids locked in the prison. Keep suspicion under control while allocating your crew. The strongest crew in each location at the end of each round wins resources, hires powerful crew, builds great items, and increases reputation. The player with the highest reputation after six rounds wins. Each round has three phases: Roll Call (place minions, some face - up, some face - down), Lights Out (score areas, get resources, recruit and build), and Patrol Phase (new resources, guards patrol, high - suspicion players are raided). We're happy to support campaigns. A large part of your spend on this game will back new Kickstarter games. If you have purchase questions or need game advice, contact The Game Steward.

How to use: First, understand the three phases of each round. In Roll Call, take turns placing your minions around the prison. Decide whether to show their strength or keep it hidden. During Lights Out, check how well your crew did in each area. You'll get resources, and you can recruit more goons and build items. In the Patrol Phase, new resources come out, and the guards start patrolling. Be careful if you have high suspicion as the guards might raid you. Notice: Try to balance gathering resources, recruiting goons, and keeping the guards' suspicion low. Don't be too obvious when crafting contraband. Maintenance: Keep the game components in a dry place. If the cards get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft cloth. Store the game in its box to avoid losing any pieces.
