Nusfjord is a peaceful fishing village in the Lofoten archipelago of northern Norway. Fifty years ago, it thrived during the cod spawning season. Now, it's more of a museum with less than a hundred residents. You even have to pay to view the houses, and cruise ships used to pass by this once - bustling but now mostly deserted island. In the game's setting, sailing ships fill the fjord and the rocks are covered with trees. As the head of a major fishing company in Nusfjord, your goal is to develop the harbor and the surroundings. You'll need to expand your fleet, clear the forest, build new buildings, and keep the local elders happy. Competition is tough as other players have the same goals. Similar to Agricola and Ora et Labora, Nusfjord uses a worker placement system. Each player starts with three workers to place on a central board to trigger actions. Whether you want to clear a forest on your board, buy a cutter, or construct a building, you need to place a worker in the right spot, but only if there's space. Money is scarce. One way to get it quickly is by putting shares of your company on the market. It's a risky move. If you buy back the shares, you'll make money, but if an opponent gets them, they'll benefit from your sea catches. The village elders may also claim a share of your catch, especially if you've interacted with them. So, be careful or your catch might end up in others' hands.
