This is the Retail Edition of Pavlov’s Dogs Core Board Game by 9th Level Games, including the core game.
Pavlov’s Dogs is an exciting pseudo - psychological card and board game that combines memory and conditioning. It's a fast - paced and engaging game where you follow rules and have a great time acting silly! You'll be eager for more rounds!
In the game, players take on the role of dogs. During a series of tests (rounds), they are supervised by Dogtors like Sigmund Fetch, Collie Jung, Bark F. Skinner, etc. In each round, one player becomes the Dogtor to make sure all dogs follow the rules.
Each round, players are dealt 5 cards from the test deck without looking at them. The test deck has numbered cards in 3 suits (BLUE, YELLOW, and BROWN) with dog commands (SIT, SHAKE, FETCH, ROLLOVER, and BEG). Each suit also has 2 BELL cards worth zero.
On a player's turn, they flip one test card and announce the total value of the test. For example, the first player flips a YELLOW SHAKE ONE and says “ONE”. The second player flips a BROWN BEG TWO and says “THREE”, and so on.
The rules can change the card value or add action requirements when a certain card type is played. For instance, SIT commands equal ZERO, or you must bark when any BLUE card is played.
With each new round, a new rule is added, making the tests more challenging.
Dogs are rewarded with bones for completing the test without mistakes. But they lose bones if they make a mistake. The game ends when a dog runs out of bones or after 8 rounds in a standard game. The number of bones left at the end is the test score!
