Product Information

Board Game Geek rates Deus at 7.04, with an average player rating of 7.35. This 2014 retail - edition board game is for 2 to 4 players. In Deus, players develop their own civilizations in a shared world. Each player begins with five building cards. On a turn, you can either construct a building using a card or discard cards to make an offering to a god. The cards come in six colors: red for military, green for resource production, blue for trade, brown for scoring, purple for temples, and yellow with various effects. When building, place the building on the modular game - board (sized according to the number of players and made of hexagonal tiles with seven landscape 'circles'), then put the card in your personal tableau and activate the powers of the cards in the stack. When making an offering, discard cards, get help from a god, and refill your hand to five. The game ends when all barbarian villages are attacked or all temples are built, and the player with the most points wins. At The Game Steward, a significant part of your purchase of Deus Retail Edition will support new Kickstarter games. If you have any questions, contact us.

To play Deus, start by giving each player five building cards. On your turn, you have two options. You can construct a building by using one of your cards. Place the building on the right spot on the game board, which is made up of hexagonal tiles and sized for the number of players. Then put the card in your personal area and activate the powers of the cards in the stack, starting from the bottom. Or you can discard one or more cards to make an offering to a god. The number of cards you discard decides the strength of the action from the god. After that, refill your hand to five cards. The game ends when all barbarian villages are surrounded and attacked or all temples are built. The player with the most points wins. Remember to keep your cards organized. If you have any problems during the game, contact The Game Steward for advice. Also, store the game in a dry place to keep the cards and board in good condition.
