First published as Railroad Tycoon in 2005, it brings several upgrades to the original. Start your journey in the early Age of Steam with a locomotive (the famous John Bull, North America's first locomotive) and a mission card. Build your small railroad network into a huge empire. Connect major cities like New York and Chicago, earn the most money, develop better locomotives, and even build the Transcontinental Railway across North America! There are multiple expansions with different maps. The base game comes with an engine placards, railroad tiles, train tokens, money, bonds, and more. It also includes a game - board of the eastern US and a mounted map of Mexico. This game follows other Winsome train games by the designer. Railroad Tycoon simplified Age of Steam's mechanics to appeal to a wider audience. A revised reprint in 2010 improved components.
