Product Information

Board Game Geek Rating: 6.93, Avg Player Rating: 7.67. This 2017 retail edition of Santa Maria is a medium - complexity Eurogame for 1 to 4 players. It's a streamlined game where you establish and develop your own colony. With elements of dice drafting and strategic engine building, it's low on luck and has no direct player conflict. All components are language - independent. In the game, expand your colony by placing polyominoes with buildings on your board. Use dice (migrant workers) to activate buildings in rows or columns. Place the die on the last activated building to block the space. As the game goes on, produce resources, form shipping routes, send conquistadors, and boost your religious power to recruit monks. Decide if a monk becomes a scholar, missionary, or bishop. The player with the most happiness after three rounds wins. The game offers near - endless replayability with varying specialists, end - game bonuses, and buildings. At TheGameSteward, we back campaigns to bring you games like this. A large part of your purchase will support new Kickstarter games. Contact us if you have any questions.

To play Santa Maria, first set up the colony board and distribute the polyominoes with buildings. Each player then starts establishing their colony. Use the dice, which represent migrant workers, to activate buildings in rows or columns on your board. Remember to place the die on the last activated building to block the space. As you play, focus on producing resources, forming shipping routes, sending out conquistadors, and improving your religious power to recruit monks. When you recruit a monk, carefully decide if it should be a scholar, missionary, or bishop. After three rounds, the player with the most happiness wins. Be strategic about where you place new buildings and the order in which you use the dice. Keep all components in a dry and clean place to maintain them. If you have any issues during the game, feel free to contact The Game Steward for advice.
