Board Game Geek Rating: 6.68. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 7.07. This board game is for 2 to 5 players and was published in 2015. It's the retail edition of The Big Book of Madness. Your first year at the Elementary College has been a bit of a letdown. You've only learned to light a small flame on your finger, while spending more time reading than mastering powerful spells. When you heard about the Big Book of Madness in the school library, you sneaked in despite the professors' warnings. As you lift the cover, dreadful creatures pour out, threatening the world! It's up to you to fix this mess. Learn from the library to fight the monsters and avoid going insane. The Big Book of Madness is a challenging co - operative game. Players, as magic students, must work as a team to turn all the book's pages and defeat the monsters. Each player builds their own element deck during the game. Use it for learning spells, casting them, adding elements, or dealing with curses. Spells can support your friends, improve your deck, or draw cards. But the monsters fight back with curses that trigger each turn if not dispelled. These curses can make you discard elements, add madness cards, or lose spells. Turn six pages and defeat all monsters to win! At TheGameSteward, we're happy to back campaigns for games like this. A large part of your purchase will go towards backing new games on Kickstarter. How to use: Gather 2 to 5 players. Each player starts building their own element deck during the game. As a team of magic students, your goal is to turn all the pages of The Big Book of Madness and defeat the monsters that come out. Use your element deck to learn and cast spells, add new elements, and deal with curses. Spells can help you support your teammates, improve your deck, or draw cards. Try to turn six pages and beat all the monsters to win the game. Note: The monsters have curses that trigger every turn. Make sure to dispel them in time to avoid discarding elements, getting madness cards in your deck, or losing spells. Maintenance: Keep the game components in a dry and clean place. After each use, put the cards and pieces back in the box neatly to prevent damage and ensure they last for a long time.
