Product Information
Imperial Rome is the fourth expansion for Commands & Colors: Ancients, an expandable game system. This allows players to recreate ancient historical battles that wrap up in under an hour. In this expansion, enjoy a variety of battles that didn't fit in previous packs. The Romans fight in Britain at Medway in 43 AD, against Boudica at Watling Street in 61 AD, and at Mons Graupius in 84 AD. Antony and Octavian of the Second Triumvirate battle Cassius and Brutus twice at Philippi in 42 BC. The main focus is Rome's conflicts with the Parthian Empire, Teutonic Barbarians, and civil - wars until Constantine becomes the sole Roman Emperor around 325 AD. Packed with unique play concepts and new units like cataphracted cavalry, wagon laager forts, horse archers, and light infantry tossing caltrops. All operate within the original system rules with minor tweaks for historical accuracy. Components include 293 blocks, four sticker sheets, a new terrain tile sheet, two wooden card holders, a scenario booklet with 24 scenarios, and 2 reference cards. To play, you need the basic Commands & Colors: Ancients game, Expansion Nr. 1 Greek vs The Eastern Kingdoms, and Expansion Nr. 2 Rome vs The Barbarians. Some scenarios can use 'other' armies, but others have specific requirements.
To use this Imperial Rome expansion for Commands & Colors: Ancients, first make sure you have the basic game along with Expansion Nr. 1 Greek vs The Eastern Kingdoms and Expansion Nr. 2 Rome vs The Barbarians. Set up the game using the provided blocks, terrain tiles, and card holders as described in the scenario booklet. Each scenario comes with its own set of rules, most of which are based on the original game system with only a few new special rules that are easy to learn if you already own the base game. When playing, pay attention to the specific force requirements of each scenario. Some scenarios need specific units like lots of horse archers. For maintenance, keep the blocks, cards, and terrain tiles in a dry and cool place to prevent warping or damage. Avoid getting the sticker sheets wet as it may cause the stickers to peel off. If you have any issues, refer to the reference cards for quick help.
