It includes automated versions of the four factions from the Riverfolk and Underworld Expansion, enabling solo and cooperative play. The core game is required and sold separately. Note that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. The expansion contains automated versions of current Root expansion factions like the Lizard Cult, Riverfolk Company, Corvid Conspiracy, and Underground Duchy. It also comes with related booklets, markers, cards, and boards such as the Law of Rootbotics booklet, 12 priority markers, 12 difficulty cards, 16 trait cards, 3 Vagabots, and 4 faction boards. The Clockwork Expansion lets you face off against four tricky automated factions in solo, competitive, or co - operative games. It has automated versions of all four factions from the base game of Root, including the Mechanical Marquise 2.0, Electrical Eyrie, Automated Alliance, and Vagabot. It's fully compatible with other expansions, so you can pit the Riverfolk or Corvids against the Clockwork factions. You can play with the Clockwork factions however you like - solo, add them to a multiplayer game, or cooperate as a team against them. How to use: First, make sure you have the core Root game as this is an expansion. Set up the game according to the instructions in the Law of Rootbotics booklet. You can choose to play solo, with friends in a competitive game, or cooperate as a team against the automated Clockwork factions. Select the difficulty level for each Clockwork faction and decide if you want to add unique traits to them. Then, start playing and have fun!
