It features a conflict between the Great Machine, an AI network, and a group of Heroes. The main game mode is One - vs - Many (2 - 4 players), and it can also be played cooperatively or solo (1 - 3 players). The Great Machine controls a sky - borne city on mobile platforms. As the Great Machine, the player or AI commands Servants and mechanical Guards. Its goal is to suppress unrest and complete a grand plan to perfect mankind. The other players are Heroes working together to start a revolution. They stir up discontent, gain support from citizens, and start riots to stop the Great Machine's plan, which would enslave mankind. Game features: The modular board offers endless City layouts as players can reposition districts during the game. There's hidden movement where Heroes secretly choose districts each round. Both sides manage resources, paying for actions with Trust (Heroes) or Bonds (Great Machine). The Heroes need 3 riots to win, while the Great Machine aims to complete the Master Plan. The Heroes must hide their plans from the Great Machine, but can discuss them only when the Great Machine is present. To play City of the Great Machine, first set up the modular board according to your preference. You can create different City layouts by repositioning the districts. Decide whether you'll play in the One - vs - Many mode (2 - 4 players), cooperatively, or solo (1 - 3 players). If you're the Great Machine, command your Servants and mechanical Guards to suppress social unrest and work towards completing the Master Plan. Use Bonds to pay for actions and movement. If you're a Hero, work together with other Heroes. Secretly choose the districts you'll go to each round. Stir up discontent, gain support from citizens, and start riots. Spend Trust to perform actions. Remember, the Heroes need 3 riots to win, and the Great Machine needs to complete the Master Plan. When discussing your plans, Heroes can only talk in the presence of the Great Machine. After the game, carefully store the board, modules, and cards in a dry place to keep them in good condition.
