Product Information
Board Game Geek Rating: 6.45, Avg Player Rating: 7.35. Suitable for 1 to 4 players and published in 2015. This is the Kickstarter Edition of the Forge War Board Game. Note that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. In Forge War, you step into the shoes of blacksmiths in a kingdom full of harpies, cursed dungeons, and fire - breathing dragons. Your job is to gather ore from mines, buy weapon designs from the market, and forge weapons for adventurers. These adventurers will then go on quests to fight the encroaching darkness. If they succeed, they'll bring back ore, money, and other rewards for you to expand your weaponsmithing business. Forge War is a game of aggressive investment through quest acquisition. Quest management can be tough as quests don't finish right away, get harder each turn, and you need to add resources at specific times or face failure. Each round has three gameplay phases. First, move pieces on a hex grid to boost resource production. Second, enter the market phase with an action - blocking mechanic to access new weapon plans. Finally, pick and manage quests from a card pool. We're happy to support campaigns to offer games like Forge War. A large part of your spending on this game will go towards backing new Kickstarter games. If you have any purchase questions or need game advice, contact The Game Steward.
To play Forge War, start by setting up the game with all the pieces, cards, and the hex grid. Decide who will be the blacksmiths, with 1 to 4 players allowed. In each round, there are three phases. In the first phase, move your pieces around the hex grid to make the most of resource production. Try different moves to see which ones give you the best results. The second phase is the market phase. Here, use the action - blocking mechanic to get access to new weapon plans. This might take some strategy, so think about your long - term goals. The final phase is about picking and managing quests from the card pool. Remember, quests don't complete right away and get more difficult each turn. You'll need to add resources at specific times to keep them going. If you don't, you'll face failure. When it comes to the Kickstarter Edition, note that paid add - ons from the campaign aren't included unless otherwise stated. As for maintenance, keep all the game pieces in a safe place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. If the cards get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth. Have fun playing and building your weaponsmithing empire!
