These items can be combined to fulfill recipes for concoctions, scoring you more prestige. Each round starts with numbered tokens representing your spell strengths. Use these tokens to cast spells and bid on items and special actions on the forest floor. After you cast a spell, rivals can cast more powerful ones on adjacent items. As the forest is explored, different magical control conditions restrict pathways, creating strategic situations. If your spell - casting fails, you can offer to forest sprites for more treasures. The game offers great variability with different forest grid set - ups, goals, concoction cards, and special player abilities. No two games of Nocturne will be the same.
