Note that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign aren't included unless stated otherwise. In the medieval era around Orléans, France, you'll assemble a group of farmers, merchants, knights, and monks. Through trade, construction, and science, you aim for supremacy. In the city of Orléans and the Loire area, take trade trips to other cities, acquire valuable goods, and build trading posts. Use your followers as traders, builders, and scientists to expand your influence. Knights protect your trade routes, craftsmen build stations and tools, scholars drive scientific progress, and monks help you avoid bad luck. There are countless ways to win, and the key is to combine all elements according to your strategy. The Deluxe Edition comes with awesome upgrades: 47 metal coins instead of money tokens, 104 wooden discs and stickers instead of worker tokens, 16 wooden wheels instead of technology tokens, 14 wooden meeples instead of citizen tokens, 4 custom meeples as player markers, Orléans Tavern & Depot tiles, 90 wooden tokens instead of goods tokens, and black pieces for a fifth player. To play Orléans Deluxe, first set up the game board and distribute the upgraded tokens and meeples according to the number of players. The metal coins, wooden discs, wheels, and other pieces add a great tactile feel to the game. Each player starts with a set of followers and begins taking actions in the medieval world of Orléans. You can send your followers on trade trips, build trading posts, and invest in science. Try to combine different actions based on your strategy to gain an edge over other players. Remember, the Kickstarter Edition doesn't include paid add - ons unless specified. As for maintenance, keep the wooden pieces away from moisture to prevent warping.
