The Tang dynasty marked the first golden age of classic and iconic Chinese gardens. Emperor Xuanzong built the magnificent Imperial Garden of the Majestic Clear Lake, from where he ruled. In this game, you'll be an Imperial Garden Designer. Your mission is to build an amazing garden while balancing nature's elements.
Tang Garden is a Zen - like board game that transports you to ancient China's first golden age. You'll gradually construct a garden by shaping the landscape, placing scenery, and presenting your vision through vertical panoramas. As you build, noblemen will visit to admire the harmonious coexistence of natural elements.
Players take turns with two actions:
1. Place tiles and match elements to boost your personal nature balance and unlock more character miniatures. Balancing nature elements on your board attracts new characters. On your turn, if balanced, choose a miniature and decide where to place it in the garden, facing your favorite background, and keep the other to use its ability.
2. Draw decoration cards and place one on the board to gain prestige by completing collections. Draw cards based on the board situation, choose one, and place it in the garden to create a unique scene.
During the game, placing tiles on special board areas lets you add panorama tiles. These add an endless perspective for visitors. Both small and big panoramas are attached perpendicularly to the board insert for a seamless look. At the game's end, panoramas interact with characters to award prestige points based on what visitors see and like.
The player with the most prestige at the end wins.
