Board Game Geek Rating: 6.84. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 7.13. This 2 - to - 4 - player board game was published in 2015. It's the retail edition of the Cacao Board Game. Cacao is an exciting tile - placement game that takes you to the exotic world of the 'fruit of the Gods'. As the tribe chief, lead your people to prosperity by cultivating and trading cacao. Each player has a personal deck of square worker tiles, with the number of workers on each side varying. The game starts with a cacao field and a small market, and jungle tiles are added as you play. On your turn, place a worker tile next to existing jungle tiles. If there's an empty space between two worker tiles, add a jungle tile there. Workers do different tasks: next to a cacao field, they get cacao markers; next to a market, you can sell cacao; next to a well, you get water; next to a temple, they stand until the game ends. After placing a tile, refill your hand to three worker tiles. The game ends when all players use all their worker tiles. Score points based on water supply, and temples reward those who sent the most workers. The one with the most gold wins. We're excited to back campaigns to bring you the Cacao Retail Edition. A large part of your spending on Cacao will go towards backing new Kickstarter games. If you have questions about buying or need game advice, contact The Game Steward.
To play the Cacao Retail Edition board game, first, gather 2 to 4 players. The game starts with a cacao field and a small market on the board. Each player gets a personal deck of square worker tiles. On your turn, place one of your worker tiles next to the existing jungle tiles on the board. If there's an empty space between two worker tiles, add a jungle tile there. Your workers will then do different tasks depending on where they are placed. Next to a cacao field, they'll get cacao markers; next to a market, you can sell cacao; next to a well, you'll get water; next to a temple, they'll just stand there until the end of the game. After your turn, refill your hand to three worker tiles. The game ends when all players have used all of their worker tiles. Keep an eye on your water supply as it affects your score, and try to send as many workers to the temples as possible to get rewards. The player who collects the most gold at the end wins. When storing the game, keep the tiles in a dry place to avoid damage. If the tiles get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
