Product Information

Board Game Geek Rating: 7.01. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 7.80. Suitable for 3 to 8 players. Published in 2018. This is the Retail Edition of the Decrypto Board Game. In Decrypto, players team up in two groups. The goal is to decipher coded messages from your teammates while cracking the codes intercepted from the other team. Each team has a screen with four cards hidden in numbered pockets (1 - 4). Only your team can see the words on these cards. In the first round, a team - member gets a code card (e.g., 4 - 2 - 1) and gives a coded message for teammates to guess the code. For instance, if your words are 'pig', 'candy', 'tent', and 'son', you might say 'Sam - striped - pink'. A correct guess is great; a wrong one gets a black mark. From the second round, each team gives another clue. The opposing team tries to guess your code. A correct guess by them earns a white mark, while a wrong one means your team must guess correctly or get a black mark. The game goes on until a team gets its second white mark (wins) or second black mark (loses). Usually, games last 4 - 7 rounds. If no one wins after eight rounds, both teams guess each other's words, and the team with more correct guesses wins. We're excited to offer the Decrypto Retail Edition for online purchase at TheGameSteward. A big part of your spending on Decrypto will support new Kickstarter games. How to use: First, divide players into two teams. Each team gets a screen and four cards to place in numbered pockets. In the first round, a team - member takes a code card and gives a coded message to their teammates to guess the code. From the second round, teams keep giving clues, and the opposing team tries to guess the code. The game ends when a team gets two white or two black marks. If it's a draw after eight rounds, guess the other team's words. Note: Make sure your coded messages are clear enough for your teammates to understand, but hard for the other team to crack. Try not to give away too much information. Maintenance: Keep the cards and screens in a dry place to prevent damage. If they get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft cloth.
