Product Information

Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 6.00. This 2020 board game by Grey Fox Games is a must - play for 2 to 4 players. The Retail Edition includes the core game. Gem Hens is a thrilling set - collection game. Players send chickens to gather gems for the most amazing jeweled eggs. Each round, roll chicken dice for 20 seconds, saving good results and rerolling others. Some dice results let you move, mark rows/columns, and add gems to the board. After setting the turn order, players take turns. Move chickens 1 - 3 spaces, shove opponents' hens. When a chicken lands on a Grain Gem, place it on your Egg Board. Grain Gems vary in rarity and score points based on set completion. The advanced variant adds Power Clucks, making the battle for Grain Gems even wilder. At TheGameSteward, a big part of your purchase of Gem Hens will back new Kickstarter games. Contact us for purchase or game advice.

To play Gem Hens, start by gathering 2 to 4 players. The game begins with each round where you have 20 seconds to roll the chicken dice. Save the results you want and reroll the rest until time runs out. This helps you get the actions you need, like moving your chicken, marking rows or columns, and adding gems to the board. Once the turn order (Pecking Order) is set, take turns. You can move your chicken 1 - 3 spaces by spending dice, and you can even shove an opponent's hen. When your chicken lands on a Grain Gem, put it on your Egg Board. Remember, different Grain Gems have different values and score points based on whether they complete a set on the jeweled egg. In the advanced variant, use Power Clucks to make the game more exciting. Keep your game pieces in a dry and safe place. If the dice or other parts get dirty, you can gently clean them with a soft cloth. Don't expose the game to extreme temperatures or moisture. Have fun playing and enjoy the competition!
