Board Game Geek Rating: 6.65. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 7.88. This retail - edition board game is for 4 to 9 players and was published in 2017. Sidereal Confluence is a truly unique trading and negotiation game set in the Elysian Quadrant. Players choose one of nine distinct alien races to form a trade federation. Each race has its own technology cards and may have special cultural cards. These cards need resource cubes to use and can yield more cubes, ships, and victory points. Since each race's resource inputs and outputs don't match, trading is essential. In each game round, there's an open trading phase where players can negotiate deals on cubes, ships, colonies, and technology use. They can also research technologies, upgrade colonies, and use special cards. After trading, all players run their economies simultaneously. Then comes the Confluence phase with technology sharing and bidding for colonies and research teams. Researching new technologies gives victory points and helps the galactic society progress. The ultimate aim is to get victory points through technology research, resource conversion, and converting leftover goods at game - end. This game features almost all simultaneous play. At TheGameSteward, we're happy to support campaigns to offer games like Sidereal Confluence. A large part of your spending on this game will go towards backing new Kickstarter games. How to play: First, each player picks one of the nine alien races. In the open trading phase of each round, talk to other players and make deals on cubes, ships, colonies, and technology use. Use your resources to research technologies, upgrade colonies, or play your race's special cards. After trading, run your economy by spending resources to get more. During the Confluence phase, share new technologies and bid for colonies and research teams. At the end of the game, convert your leftover goods into victory points. Things to note: Remember that each race has different resource needs and outputs, so trading is key. Also, when researching technologies, think about how it will benefit the whole group as well as your own race. Maintenance advice: Keep the game components in a dry and cool place. Make sure to store the cards in a proper cardholder to prevent them from getting bent or damaged. If the game board gets dirty, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
