It includes the Underforest and Desert Labyrinth printed books and Above and Below Expanded Edition cardboard tokens, originating from the Near and Far Kickstarter Campaign. You need the Above and Below core game (sold separately). Note that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. In this game, your last village was ransacked. After a tough journey, you find a new place. But there are caverns underground full of treasures. You'll build a village above and below ground, competing with up to three friends. Send villagers to do jobs like exploring caves, harvesting resources, and building houses. Each villager has unique skills. The storytelling part comes when exploring the caverns. A friend reads from a book of paragraphs, and you choose how to react. The book has amazing, randomly - chosen encounters. At the end, the most well - developed village wins. The Kickstarter version has exclusive items like Villager Tool tokens, Lost Villagers, Swamp Villagers, Creature Villagers, Quest Tokens, Underforest Tokens and PDF story book, Desert Labyrinth tokens and PDF story book, and Wooden Goods, which can be found in Above and Below: Expanded Edition exclusives. How to use: First, make sure you have the Above and Below core game. Set up the game with the included Underforest and Desert Labyrinth books and tokens. Each player gets their own village board. Decide who will start. Send your villagers to different jobs on the board, like exploring the cave or harvesting resources. When sending villagers to the cavern, a friend reads from the story book and you choose your reaction. At the end of the game, count your village's development to see who wins. Notes: This is a Kickstarter special edition, so paid add - ons from the campaign might not be included. You must have the core game to play. Maintenance: Keep the tokens and books in a dry place to prevent damage. Avoid bending the cardboard tokens. If you spill something on the books, gently wipe it with a dry cloth.
