Note: paid add - ons from the Kickstarter campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. Darkest Doom is an exciting competitive strategy game with RPG elements for 1 - 4 players. Set in a dark fantasy world inspired by 17th - century Europe and populated by anthropomorphic animals. Can you survive the 9 - day Eclipse as the Darkness tries to destroy the Betel region while competing with other Guardians to win? In this board game, you control one of four powerful Guardians, each with unique abilities. Explore the Betel region, use different terrains, and complete quests from Vicar Percival to upgrade your Guardian's stats. Find ancient relics to meet victory conditions, form alliances with Citadels, and fight the encroaching Darkness. Each new round is a new Dawn, and with Citadel restock, you can replenish your hand from Equipment, Spells, and Traps decks. The same card has different effects based on your stats. When rolling dice, High Priestess Elaine gives you the power of the Crimsonfate to modify dice results. Play alone with Bot Guardians or challenge three other players in this dark fantasy adventure combining role - play, exploration, and traditional board - game elements. To play Darkest Doom, first choose one of the four Guardians. Each Guardian has its own special abilities. Then start exploring the Betel region. Use the unique features of different terrains to your advantage. Complete the quests given by Vicar Percival to improve your Guardian's statistics. While exploring, keep an eye out for ancient relics as they can help you meet one of the four victory conditions. You can form alliances with Citadels to gain an edge over other Guardians. When it comes to dice - rolling, thanks to High Priestess Elaine, you can use the power of the Crimsonfate from the Citadels Supplies cards in your hand to change the dice result. You can play alone with the Bot Guardians mode or with three other players. As for maintenance, keep the cards in a dry and clean place to prevent damage.
