Board Game Geek Rating: 5.91. Board Game Geek Avg Player Rating: 7.92. Suitable for 2 - 4 players and published in 2015. This is the Kickstarter Edition of Taluva Deluxe Board Game. Note that paid add - ons from the Kickstarter Campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. In Taluva, players settle a South Sea island emerging as volcanoes erupt. Each turn, decide to make a new volcano erupt along the shore to expand the island or have an existing one erupt again to raise land height and maybe damage settlements. Place a tile with one volcano and two landscape types, following placement rules. Then, place wooden buildings like huts, temples or towers. Start settlements with a single hut at the lowest level and expand. The game ends when all tiles are placed. The player with the most temples wins, with towers and huts breaking ties. Immediate victory or defeat is possible. Strategic placement rules are key, as volcanoes can't fully destroy settlements. The Deluxe edition includes the larger basic game and new expansions like the Ship expansion (a wooden piece for lagoons near settlements) and the 2 - Hex tiles expansion. We're excited to back campaigns and offer Taluva Deluxe for online purchase at TheGameSteward. A portion of your spend on this game will back new Kickstarter games. Contact us at The Game Steward for purchase questions or game advice.

How to play Taluva Deluxe: First, set up the game with the tiles and wooden buildings. Players take turns. On your turn, you can either make a new volcano erupt along the shore to grow the island or make an existing one erupt to increase land height. Place a tile with one volcano and two other landscapes, making sure it touches other tiles as required. After placing the tile, place your wooden buildings. Start with a single hut at the lowest level and expand your settlement by placing more huts, then temples and towers. The game ends when all tiles are placed. The one with the most temples wins. If there's a tie, towers and then huts decide the winner. You can win immediately by placing all buildings of two types or lose if you can't legally place any buildings on your turn. Note: This is the Kickstarter Edition, and paid add - ons from the campaign are not included unless otherwise stated. Keep your game components clean and dry. If any pieces get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft cloth. Store the game in a cool, dry place to prevent damage to the tiles and wooden pieces.
